My work is inspired by nature, home, and the landscape. I’ve always been in love with colors, fascinated by the atmospheres created from them. I enjoy working with natural pigments, highlighting their organic textures in my semi-abstract & intuitive landscapes. I enjoy exploring the countryside, stopping to take photographs of a beautiful view, an interesting tree or a little cottage nestled in the hills, to later use as reference and inspiration in the studio. I’m told that my paintings have a strong sense of narrative, and feel peaceful and nostalgic.

I often say, “I paint where I would like to be”. For many years I worked in acrylic, occasionally using watercolour or gouache for smaller paintings. I made the decision in the autumn of 2020 to begin experimenting with different media and to push myself out of my creative comfort zone!

I now also use coloured pencils, pens and pastels, sometimes combining them with paint, to create mixed media pieces alongside my usual paintings. I enjoy the process of layering the different materials, slowly building colour, texture and detail, and never really knowing where the journey will take me. I’m also working in my sketchbooks more often, and I’ve found that they’re the perfect place to discover new techniques and colour palettes.

Thank you so much for visiting my website. I hope that you’ll enjoy looking around!
